The issue of constitutional reform was the main topic of discussion during the meeting that was held at the request of German Party. Valeriy Pysarenko acquainted Mr. Ambassador with the bills on amendments to the Fundamental Law of Ukraine, which are under consideration in the Committee.
The Parties highly appreciated latter amendments to the criminal procedure and advocacy legislation. The Parties believe that the new version of the Criminal Procedure Code and the Law “On Advocacy and Advocatory Activity”, prepared by the Committee, are in line with the European standards.
They also discussed the issue of selective justice in Ukraine. German Party considers this issue “might become an obstacle on the way of Ukraine towards European integration.”
The Chairman of the Committee and the Ambassador agreed to continue further cooperation and exchange experience regarding constitutional reform.
